Guidance Philosophy
The Almond-Bancroft School District
believes that the learning, personal, social, and career developmental needs of students
can be more effectively met with a Developmental Guidance Program as a component of the
general curriculum. The program addresses developmental stages which students
experience as they progress through school.
The Almond-Bancroft School District's approach is based on the 1998 Wisconsin Developmental Guidance Model. This model stresses the principle that individuals are involved in an ongoing growth process, originating at a point where they are dependent on others and progressing to a point where they are contributing members of a community and are able to guide the growth of others.
The Almond-Bancroft School District's Developmental Guidance Program stresses the prevention of problems by providing students with age appropriate information, skills, and goals.
