Differences in C.E.R.F. certificates:
Dogs that have been microchipped, C.E.R.F numbers WILL NOT have a "N" at the end of the number.
Example: HV-2512 /2004--14 or HV2512N / 2004--14.
Chica and Riley are both microchipped.
Chica's C.E.R.F. # is: HV-2512/2004--14
Riley's C.E.R.F. # is:
HV-2511/2004-13
"Starting January 1ST, 2001, CERF adopted a policy that permanent identification in the form of DNA profile, microchip, or tattoo will be needed for any dog to be registered. Dogs not permanently identified will continued to be CERF'ed; however, they will be issued a number suffix "N" indicating that the dog has no permanent identification."
