Dr. Dwight Stevens, Grand Master Instructor

Dr. Dwight Stevens is one of 323 Kukkiwon 7th Dan black belts world-wide, outside of Korea. He is one of a much smaller number of 8th Dan Han Moo Kwan Grand Masters. Dr. Stevens is also a W.T.F. licensed Grand Master Instructor, a certified Phillipino Pressure Points Instructor, the 22nd life member of the United States Taekwondo Union, a world-wide Taekwondo referee, and was appointed an official delegate for the United States Taekwondo Union to the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

Dr. Stevens has been active in Taekwondo for over 30 years and was influential in promoting Taekwondo at the YMCA in Madison and Stevens Point. He began the program in Stevens Point in 1981. Dr Stevens worked with the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point to initiate the first Taekwondo physical education course in the state of Wisconsin to be offered for college credit. This program continues to be offered at UWSP.

Dr. Stevens began training in Martial Arts during the Korean War and in later years joined John Corbin and Grand Master Chom Son Cho's Taekwondo School in Madison and Milwaukee, WI in 1977.

Dr. Stevens has trained and influenced thousands of students over the years. He has over 500 black belts throughout the world and is dedicated and committed to his students and the martial art of Taekwondo.

A three-member panel, including Dr. Stevens and two higher ranking black belts selected at the discretion of Dr. Stevens, judge students at Taekwondo testings.  Promotion tests are generally held on the second Sunday during the months of February, April, June, August, October and December.
